How many hours per semester do you take?

Do you have a life beyond work/school/kids?

Do you have time for professional development?

A PhD is really necessary for work in library administration and university-level administration.

It doesn't seem to matter what it's in, but knowing about the higher education process can be helpful (even now in meetings, already understand more about what's going on).

Also concerned about getting PhD about university you're working at--may consider transferring, but have been told by very reputable guy that it doesn't matter, that if you're single you maybe should go to another school, but if you have family and a job somewhere, just get it where it's convenient.

Would start right away--G. regrets having not done so, and A. says it's not that bad. A lot of higher-level reading, regular college papers, and a lot of statistics courses--they suggest you take one per semester in order to finish them all.

If you think you're going to need it, it's good to get it.

A. still has time for family, but had to give up a few hobbies. She says she just does it, and it works.

Recommend PhD over EdD; has better rep. and only requires a few more hours.

IsDOC is well-spoken-of, but may be problems with current ad. Will probably be fine later.

Can take a certain number of 5000-level courses to apply to PhD program.
