Brief Biography Posting (photos optional): Before the first live class session, post a brief biography about yourself. Be sure to include your major and minor, your current position and career aspirations.

Journal Postings: Every other week, students will post comments on a particular topic or questions for a threaded discussion, started by the instructor, with class colleagues.

Historical Significance Paper: Select an event, a person, a movement, or a social economic change and discuss the impact/influence it had on the development of higher education. Explain the significance of your choice. The paper should follow APA style

including a bibliography. The length is determined by the subject.

Impact Timeline Development: As you read and research, when you find an event of relevance to the development of Higher Education in the United States, you will post that to the course WebCT thread that will be developed by the class. Through the semester, this “thread” will grow and evolve to its conclusion at the end of the course. It will be reviewed and discussed in the last live class session.

Future Directions Paper: Higher Education is poised at a tipping point. Through scanning of the external and internal environments and with an analysis of historical trends, discuss possible and probable changes in higher education for the 21st Century. What are the catalysts that will cause these changes? Support your predictions with documentation from the literature, but do not be reluctant to create a new paradigm.
