'What's the new Friday Frags?' The new Friday Frags uses the Plone CMS, just like our new library website. This was chosen because most library employees are familiar with using this CMS, and it also creates a cohesive, professional look. Friday Frags stories will still be emailed out on a weekly basis, and will appear in the body text of the email, instead of in an attachment. The Content Liaison for each department will submit stories and events to Friday Frags each week, by logging into the CMS. This page provides step-by-step instructions on that process, a glossary, and a FAQ.

'If you have any questions', please feel free to contact one of the Friday Frags administrators:

*Lilly Ramin, 565-3981, lramin@library.unt.edu

  1. Log in to the Friday Frags website at https://intranet.library.unt.edu/FridayFrags

#To submit a news announcement, first select the appropriate month (select the current month and week). You can also enter stories weeks in advance, if you wish--just be sure to select the month/week for which you'd like that story published.

#Click the 'Add item' tab in the upper-right hand corner of the page and select 'News Announcement.'

#Within the editing field of the News page, you should see the following icon: [[Image:Required Icon.gif]]. Any textboxes or fields highlighted with this icon are required fields. In order to save the document, you must put something in each of the required items.

##Title: Enter the title of your story. (Like the library website CMS, this title will also appear in the story's URL (link).)

##Teaser: Enter a short summary of the story. This will appear in the emailed version of Friday Frags (which will link to the full story). You can use rich text formatting, like bold and italics, in this field.

##Description (optional): Another field where you can write a brief description of the story. This field will probably not be used very often.

##Body: This is where you'll write (or copy/paste) the story itself.

##Keyword: Select one or more keywords that best describe the news announcement. You can also add keywords to the right (they will work as search terms, but will not be added to the main keyword list on the left).

##Department: select 1) the department for which you are submitting the story, and/or 2) the department(s) involved in the story. You may select more than one.

##Image: You may upload an image that suits your story, or you may select a "stock image" from the H:\ ENTER HERE
