Primary discussion concerned statistics related to the library's Strategic Plan. Discussed possible methods of statistical display, as well as the statistical results of UNT compared to peer institutions. Discussion of how to use statistics to support (or create) various hypothesis related to the Strategic Plan. These statistics were gathered during the 2007 LibQual (also some drawn from Survey of Organizational Excellent or SOE).
Question discussed: "Do library employees instill confidence in users?"
Discussed thermometer-style charts to display results:
- desired level
- perceived level
- minimum level
Results also grouped by service group (each group had separate chart):
- undergrad
- grad
- faculty
- library staff
Discussion of the statistical results:
- possible road trip to peer institutions to investigate/ask questions
- some schools may have access to consortia (which means more resources for less money); this may skew statistical results in their favor
