TLA Reserve Paper Guidelines

back to Creating Access for Historic Texas Soil Surveys: A Digitization Case-Study

back to Reviews & Professional Writing

Your proposal to present the paper "Creating Access for Historic Texas Soil Surveys: A Digitization Case-Study" at the 2007 TLA Annual Conference in San Antonio has not been scheduled for presentation, but the Committee wants to suggest that you complete the paper to serve as a substitute if any of the scheduled papers fails to be completed or another presenter withdraws. Are you amenable to serving as a reserve presenter?

Completed backup papers must be submitted electronically as an email attachment by 12 MIDNIGHT CDT, MONDAY, DECEMBER 5 to Celita DeArmond at cdearmon@accd.edu. Please submit your paper as a Word or txt format. Please be aware that many journals (including Texas Library Journal) follow the Chicago Manual of Style, 14th ed., revised (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 1993) and it is recommended that you use this style for your paper.

Backup papers will be reviewed by the Contributed Papers Committee for final clearance to be presented if an opening exists.

Note that the presentation of the paper at the conference will be timed and will not be allowed to take more than 20 minutes. You need to take this into consideration when writing your paper. It will be important for you to practice your presentation several times before the conference to be sure you will be able to stay within the time allotted. PowerPoint projection equipment will be available if you want to use it during your presentation. Please limit the number of PowerPoint slides to no more than 10.

If you have any problems or questions, please direct them to Celita DeArmond: cdearmon@accd.edu
